What does “belovedology” mean?
I started this blog with two words in mind: theology and beloved. Let’s start with a basic definition of theology.
theology (thē-ŏl′ə-jē) noun
The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition, online.
1. The study of the nature of God and religious truth; rational inquiry into religious questions.
2. A system or school of opinions concerning God and religious questions.
3. A course of specialized religious study usually at a college or seminary.
I’m not teaching a class on theology, so #3 is ruled out. As for #2, this blog may draw on systems or schools of thought, but that is not the focus. That leaves me with #1 and studying the nature of God and religious truth, but I would broaden it to spiritual truth.
The definition of beloved is pretty short and to the point.

Combining these words and concepts formed the theme for my new blog, and the spiritual journey I want to explore.

The study of the nature of God
and the spiritual truth that God dearly loves you.
